Afghanistan pulled off a stunning upset against Australia in the 39th match of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024, winning by five wickets with just two balls to spare.
Chasing a mammoth 207 to win, Afghanistan got off to a flying start thanks to a blistering 50 from Hazratullah Zazai. Rahmat Shah then took over, smashing an unbeaten 101 to help his side over the line.
For Australia, David Warner hit a brilliant 124, while Mitchell Marsh chipped in with 77. However, it wasn't enough to prevent Afghanistan from claiming a famous victory.
The win was Afghanistan's first against Australia in a T20 international, and it will give them a huge boost ahead of the knockout stages of the tournament.
